The Alden Theater was at the northeast corner of Kenilworth and Ford Road on the east side of Dearborn. As a child growing up in the 50s and 60s, it had already gone out of business and was completely boarded up. This of course facscinated all the kids in our neighborhood and soon tales of it being "haunted" arose. I remember peeking through the boards and seeing the lobby area. I remember it being in an "art deco" type style with a white tile floor. It had a ticket booth. It was a very small theater reminescient of what you see today when they build the newer threaters with some small screens. The Alden was torn down during the widening of Ford Road in the late 1960s.
