General Information:

Source: Jim Fahlstedt

This theater was a Butterfield and Johnson second run theater. It was just 5 blocks from their newer theater, the Our. I remember very little about it as it closed before I had any reason to venture that far from home to see a second run movie, especially since it ran day and date with places in our part of town. The Royal was torn down to make way for the U. S. 131 freeway. Most of what fell for that road was historic and should have been kept. Taking out many old churches and a handful of obsolete commercial building was cheaper than the alternatives, though.
